Plexamp quality9/25/2023 ![]() Every once and a while it really nails it for me. It can also make decent "mood" playlists. I guess that is the other great thing is that the settings are pretty easy to navigate and lets you change defaults for download speeds and playback quality. ![]() I use it all the time, but my wife doesn't and just uses a preset she liked. This is really great feature that lets me have an EQ for the car, my earbuds, my audiophile headphones, etc. Not only that, a really good 10 band EQ no less. My another favorite feature, is an EQ for every connected device. It saves me Data on my phone and I like that. I think I got higher resolution because one of my favorite features in Plexamp is that I can download my songs to my phone (a Pixel 6) and play them with or without internet. Without getting into to many details, I could tell well enough that I re-ripped a bunch of old CD's to FLAC.īut. I rendered a song into 3 different resolutions, including FLAC to see if I could tell the difference. I've been using Plexamp for about 6 months. Is this the case? I suppose my question is does Plexamp actually playback my music at "native quality" using Plex as some kind of pass-thru? I'm going to test the app regardless but I was wondering if others could share their experience in using it, whether they've noticed any such enhancement or that it improves the overall Plex experience. Some claim the sampling/resolution limitation is eschewed, meaning I can listen to my music files the way they are recorded at 24/192. I recently came across some intel on Plexamp, which looks like a really slick app. This is why I often use Foobar, but there is a middle-man involved (BubbleUPnP) so there is that weakness. My understanding is that Plex locks in at 44.1khz/16bit (in spite of what my phone apps tell me). With that, I am an audiophile with good equipment and am committed to hearing the best quality sound, and yes I can tell the difference in my recording studio. It is bulletproof and am in favor of the convenience and dependability that it offers. I have an extensive audio library and use Plex to stream my FLAC files locally over my wifi and remotely when I travel.
